Love is a leadership practice.

Dr. Brown’s work asks leaders to consider how culture is experienced, how belonging is built, and what it means to lead with courage.

For more than three decades, Dr. Brown has served as an educator and organizational leader, including more than 15 years as a superintendent. His work extends across K–12 education, higher education, national leadership organizations, board governance, executive development, and organizational transformation.

He earned four degrees from the University of Virginia: a bachelor’s degree, a Master of Teaching, an Education Specialist degree, and a doctorate in education. His higher-education work has included teaching at SUNY Cortland and St. John Fisher College, and he serves on the Ithaca College Board of Trustees.

As the author of Culture of Love and co-author of The Call to Courage, he connects the everyday work of leadership with a larger responsibility to the people and communities an organization serves.
